FAQ's
Acoustic performance depends on the wall system, glass specification, joints and perimeter detailing. PurOptima single-glazed systems are available with different glass thicknesses and configurations to meet varying acoustic requirements, with tested performance reaching up to STC 40 on selected systems.
Single-glazing can be appropriate where visual transparency, a reduced amount of framing and moderate acoustic separation are priorities. Double-glazing may be more suitable where the project requires higher levels of sound reduction. The decision should be based on the required acoustic performance, design intent, space use and overall partition build-up rather than glazing type alone.
Single-glazed walls can accommodate different types and thicknesses of safety glass depending on the system and required performance. Options can include tempered, laminated and acoustic laminated glass. Glass specification also influences acoustic performance, panel dimensions and detailing, so it should be coordinated with the selected partition system.
Yes. PurOptima's glass walls can be specified with tolerance options to accommodate vertical building movement. Depending on the detail selected, the system can provide 0.98″ or ±1.57″ vertical deflection allowance, allowing the glass wall head to respond to movement from the structure above while maintaining the glazed screen below.
Yes. PurOptima products are available through SpecLink and Specpoint, giving architects and specifiers another way to access product information and include our systems within their specification workflows.
