Switchable glass and curved glazing bring privacy to Norton Rose Fulbright Perth
Norton Rose Fulbright’s Perth office was designed around the balance required in a legal workplace: openness and visibility on one hand, discretion and acoustic privacy on the other.
Working with Carr Design Group and Built, Optima supplied Optima 117 Plus partitions, switchable privacy glass and Axile Pulse double doors across multiple levels, using straight and curved glazing to create meeting spaces with a refined, highly controlled architectural character.
Privacy that can change with the room
Switchable glass gives the meeting rooms the ability to move between transparency and privacy. In its clear state, the glazing keeps the rooms visually connected to the workplace around them; when privacy is needed, the glass becomes opaque, supporting confidential discussions without the need for blinds or curtains.
This is particularly suited to a legal environment, where client meetings and private conversations are part of daily use. The technology allows privacy to become part of the architecture itself, rather than an additional layer applied after the room has been formed.
Curved glazing within a refined interior
Alongside straight runs of Optima 117 Plus, curved glazed partitions introduce a softer architectural expression across the office. The curved glass helps break away from a purely rectilinear plan, giving the meeting spaces a more distinctive presence while maintaining the slimline appearance of the wider partition system.
The result is a set of enclosed rooms that feel carefully integrated into the interior rather than inserted as standard meeting boxes. The glass follows the design intent of the space, balancing precision with a more fluid sense of movement.
Axile Pulse doors completing the composition
Axile Pulse double doors were used to complete the glazed meeting rooms with a clean, frameless entrance. Their minimal appearance supports the premium character of the office, allowing the curved and straight glass elevations to remain the dominant architectural features.
Together, Optima 117 Plus, switchable privacy glass and Axile Pulse doors create a workplace where transparency can be controlled, privacy can be introduced instantly and the glazed elements remain consistent with the sophistication expected of a global law firm.
