Reeded manifestation gives Goodluck Hope’s communal lounge a more private edge
Goodluck Hope’s communal lounge forms part of Ballymore’s riverside residential neighborhood at Orchard Place, on London’s historic Leamouth Peninsula. Working with Allies & Morrison and Ballymore, Optima Special Works installed Shoreditch Edition partitions and glazed doors to create a warm, industrial-influenced resident space where people can work, meet and unwind while retaining a measured level of privacy.
An industrial language for a riverside setting
The ground-floor lounge needed to feel open and welcoming, while still reflecting the industrial character of the wider Goodluck Hope development. Revolution 54 Plus Shoreditch Edition was used to create the main glazed divisions, giving the communal space a darker, more defined architectural rhythm.
The slim applied bars bring a workshop-like quality to the elevations without closing the room down. Light can still pass through the lounge, but the black detailing gives the space a stronger visual identity and helps separate different resident areas within the shared setting.
Reeded manifestation with a layered effect
Privacy was a key part of the brief, particularly in a communal space used by residents throughout the day. Reeded manifestation was applied to the lower rows of the glazed partitions, allowing light to move through the space while softening views into the lounge.
To increase the level of screening, the manifestation was installed in two opposing directions rather than as a single layer. This creates a more textured effect across the glass, adding privacy and visual interest while reinforcing the refined industrial character of the interior.
A quieter place to work within the lounge
A separate communal working area was created within the wider lounge using Optima 117 Plus Shoreditch Edition single-glazed partitions. This gave residents a more defined space for focused work, informal meetings or time away from the busier shared areas.
The same reeded manifestation continues into this workspace, giving it a more secluded feel without making it enclosed or heavy. Together, the Shoreditch Edition detailing, glazed doors and manifestation create a communal interior that feels open, relaxed and carefully layered.
