Gerard Miliken

Gerard joined Optima in 2005 as a Senior Designer, following earlier construction design roles across commercial and residential projects. With a Bachelor’s degree in Multidisciplinary Design from the University of Ulster, he brings a broad design background to a role that sits between architectural intent, technical detailing and practical delivery.

His work supports project teams from early design development through to detailed coordination, helping translate complex requirements into clear, buildable solutions. Gerard also plays an important role in bespoke project work, where Optima’s design team uses 2D, 3D and digital design tools to explore project-specific details, test ideas and support clearer decision-making before manufacture and installation.

Working closely with architects, contractors, clients and internal teams, Gerard helps ensure Optima’s design output is technically considered, coordinated and aligned with the requirements of each project.
